How We Compare Leased Lines

Compare Leased Lines: It’s what we do

It should come as no surprise that we compare leased line prices. However, most of our clients don’t realise we are the only company to do this impartially. There are quite a few companies that come up on search engines if you type in compare leased lines connections or compare leased line costs, but all of them are either providers or re-sellers – except us. This dedicated internet connection can be made suited for businesses of all sizes, it just depends on your requirements.

You might be wondering what difference this makes to you or your business. Firstly, you are taking the contract out directly with them so it is in their best interest if you buy. They will be comparing the tail circuits of main providers like BT, Virgin Media, TalkTalk Business etc however they then add their own costs on top, those costs will then be passed down to the end-user – you.

The prices are then subject to change depending on how good business is for the provider at that time. So if you had 5 quotes through the year at different times you will be likely to get quoted completely different amounts, which reflects just how much margin they can add on.

All UK Leased line providers will charge different amounts, but it all depends on various factors such as speed you require, the distance you are from the exchange, contract term, and if any excess construction charges (ECC’s) come up.

All providers will also have a slightly different service level agreement, so we make sure we find the best one suited to your company. ECC’s will be determined once a site survey has been done, this will be compleated by the provider you sign with.

When we at Leased Line Comparison compare leased lines packages for you we literally do exactly that – get you a quote direct with the cheapest provider in your area and then deal with them directly. Our service to you is free so no end costs passed down to you and you can save up to 30% compared to direct pricing.

Comparing Leased Line Alternatives

There’s no doubt leased lines are a great product and can give your business a real competitive advantage. However, costs still can be prohibitive for customers who live in rural locations or have had trouble installing. The good news is there are alternatives that we can also help compare and get quotes for:

FTTP

Full fibre-optic broadband goes by a few names FTTP – Fibre to the Premises, FTTH – fibre to the home, FTTB –  Fibre to the business or building or basement. Honestly, I think they just make them up at this stage. Whatever you hear it called by its a business-grade broadband service that gives you faster speeds and more reliability than traditional broadband.

FTTP works by running a fibre line from the exchange point to your local roadside cabinet, and then another fibre line is run from the cabinet to your premises, hence the name fibre to the premises. It’s pretty much set up the same as Fibre to the cabinet (FTTC), except is full-fibre instead of a mix of fibre and copper.

Business broadband connections have many more benefits compared home broadband services, these include reduced fix times, better customer service, and so on. Unfortunately, even though business broadband is better than home broadband, it still doesn’t escape the inevitable low speeds at peak times, and having a higher download speed compared to upload speed (asymmetrical speeds).

FTTP starts from around £60+ per month, but this depends on the provider and what speed you require. The best way to find the cheapest FTTP prices is to run a comparison with us, it only takes a few minutes and then you’ll receive your quotes the same day.

EFM

Ethernet first mile is similar to a leased line in the speeds are symmetrical and it’s uncontended, meaning you don’t share the line with anyone else. The max speed you’ll receive on an EFM circuit is around 35MB, but this can be less depending on how far you are from your local EFM enable cabinet. The work by using copper pairs to deliver the connection to your premises.

The reason the speed is less the further you are from the cabinet is because copper degrades over distance, the signal will decrease over larger distances. Also, EFM isn’t available everywhere, you can only get this if you’re in proximity to an EFM enabled telephone exchange.

In terms of price, they start at around £120 per month, but this depends on location and the speed you need. To find the best prices for an EFM line you should run a comparison with us, we can get you free and impartial quotes with a same-day response.

WAN/MPLS

For customers who have multiple sites and need them to be on a secure and reliable network, then a WAN or MPLS is the way to go.

WAN or wide area network is just simply a way to describe connecting sites together, they can either be connected using a point-to-point Leased line, broadband, or a wireless solution, such as a satellite and so on. It works by connected Multiple LAN’s (local area networks) together to create a WAN (Wide Area Network).

SD-WAN is still a WAN but it virtual. You can use various connection within the circuit, for example you could have a point-to-point and a few broadband connections together.

MPLS is just a protocol used for transferring data. It uses packet switching to assign labels to data to allow for effortless and efficient data transference. It’s similar to IP routing but a lot more advanced and competently. We have specialists that can give you bespoke deals and quotes on SD WAN, MPLS & other WAN options. All you need to do is fill in one of our WAN/MPLS forms and you’ll get a call from one of our advisors to go over your requirements, and then you’ll receive your quotes the same day.
